3/10/24 - Power Rankings: 2023-24 Final Rankings
• publicTable of contents
Coming into the three-day set in North Augusta, everyone knew that Montverde would continue to lead the pack. It was also set that Long Island Lutheran and Link Academy were squarely in the Chipotle Nationals picture, but outside of that - nothing was really guaranteed.
The last three days of games brought movement with six more teams as the rest of the conference squared off in attempts to either bring momentum into their post-season runs or the off-season recruiting battles that are sure to come.
Legacy finished the season with the largest free-fall, dropping their final nine straight after a strong start to the year.
Biggest riser: +2, AZ Compass rose from 6th to 4th place
Biggest faller: -1, IMG Academy, La Lumiere, Wasatch, and Orangeville all fell a single position
Biggest rating increase: +.026, Link Academy from .783 to .809
Link finished the season with an absolutely dominant performance against Wasatch Academy where the final score was 74-30. AZ Compass wasn't far behind with their .024 boost from a strong weekend showing either.
Biggest rating fall: -.025, Wasatch Academy from 0.686 to 0.661
It's probably unfair to cast them in this light as they finished the year without two crucial pieces on their roster, but it is what it is. They finished the season with some rough losses to the top of the pack. Wins in either of the games may have salvaged post-season thoughts, but despite their 7-5 conference record (good enough for 5th place) they finish the Power Rankings at the number nine spot.
